Frequently Asked Questions
Your first visit is between 60-90 minutes. Each follow-up visit can range from 45-70 minutes based on your treatment plan with your therapist.
Please bring your health insurance card and prescription from the doctor referring you to physical therapy.
Most insurance plans require a referral from your Primary Care physician or a specialist. If you are not sure what your insurance company requires, call your insurance’s “Member Services”.
A prescription is a written order from your doctor stating a need for physical therapy and may include a treatment recommendation. A referral is an authorization that is submitted to your insurance company, usually by your primary care physician.
Generally, you will be seen 2-3 visits per week depending on your diagnosis. This will be decided once you and your therapist determine your treatment plan and goals.
This will depend on which part of the body we will be working on. In general, comfortable and loose-fitting clothing is most appropriate. For shoulder diagnosis a T-shirt or tank top would be ideal and shorts for most lower extremity diagnoses.
In most cases, you will need to see your primary care physician or a specialist before making an appointment. There are a few insurances that do not require this. Please call our office for more information or to schedule an appointment. We do prefer that you schedule appointments for 2-3 weeks ahead of time to ensure that you get days and times that work best for you.
Unfortunately, most insurance benefits include a co-pay/co-insurance or deductible. These costs are determined by your specific insurance plan. We prefer that co-pays are paid at the time of the visit and paid in full by the last visit. If your plan has a deductible, it is not always known if it has been met. We prefer that all out-of-pocket expenses are paid at the time of service.
